Statement:
Before settlement, Fairy-wrens thrived on the land that is now the Adelaide Park Lands. These tiny birds disappeared after ground cover and shrubs were lost and predators like cats were introduced. The City of Adelaide Council is now working to improve areas of natural habitat in the Park Lands to bring back small woodland birds, like the Fairy-wrens.
