Statement:
In my painting I endeavour to capture the beauty of things around me.
Landscape has always been part of my practice and the variety of beautiful scenes in the Adelaide Parklands has for many years provided wonderful inspiration.
The work that I have submitted draws on the visually exciting, yet tranquil atmosphere of the River Torrens at Bonython Park. I have aimed to produce a composition which emphasises vibrant colour and mark-making.
My many influences include Cezanne, Matisse and Bonnard, and amongst local artists, Hans Heysen.
