Andrew Purvis Andrew Purvis has a Bachelor of Arts (Art, Honours) (2010) and a Masters of Arts (Art) (2012) from Curtin University, Perth and is an artist, educator, and arts writer. He has previously worked as the Project Officer for Visual Arts, Craft and Writing at the Department of Culture and the Arts in Western Australia. An accomplished curator and artist, Purvis has curated a series of ambitious exhibitions in Western Australia, most notably at the Fremantle Arts Centre and the Lawrence Wilson Gallery. Erica Green she is the founding director of the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art, established in 2007 at the University of South Australia, Adelaide. In a career of over thirty years in the professional visual arts, she has achieved national renown for her enterprise and leadership as an art museum director, curator and arts administrator, curating or managing over 100 original exhibitions. Title: This is how I feel Category: Emerging Artist Dimensions (cm): 54h x 54w x 5d Medium: Acrylic On Wood Statement: A different path each morning led me on an exploration of landscape. Awaiting with anticipation each new composition, this one particular morning on this particular path, I stumbled across a conversation between the sun and trees. Waking all on its path, sleeping plants now dancing shadows in the light. And this is how I feel.

Title: Popeyes Ark Prize Status: Judges Commendation Prize Winner Category: General Dimensions (cm): 19h x 37w x 22d Medium: Ceramic Statement: The historic Popeye pleasure cruiser has been a feature on the Torrens since 1935. The birds and animals who have made the Park Lands their home, currently or in the past hitch a ride, two by two on this contemporary ark. Transported by an Adelaide icon to safer ground, perhaps. Slab constructed raku clay with porcelain animals, hand painted in under glaze and finished with clear glaze.
